Thanksgiving is known for the big meal we all eat and the good food and family we surround ourselves with every year on the third Thursday of November. However, if you have an allergy to gluten you likely find yourself questioning all the food dishes, wondering what could have gluten and what is safe.

Always read the labels but the cans of cranberry sauce I’ve purchased all are gluten free. However, the best option is to just make your own. This way you know exactly what’s included. Ocean Spray has the recipe right on the bag of cranberries. Combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a saucepan, stir until boiling. Add 1 bag of cranberries when the water and sugar boil. Lower flame and stir occasionally. This dish is ready in 10 minutes and tastes much like the stuff you buy in a can only it’s fresh and warm.
